Changes 2005
Further details of the changes being introduced this year.

Timing Changes
Early and Late National Staging Times At both the 2005 Early and Late Nationals, staging time is to be extended until 10 a.m. with judging starting at 10.15 a.m. We consider with the developments made in the administration of the shows in the past few years it will be possible for the opening time of the show and presentation of awards is to remain the same.

 Inter Society classes.
There has been a reduction in Societies staging exhibits at both the Early and Late National Shows. In order to encourage exhibitors to donate blooms to their Societies for exhibition it is proposed to award NCS Silver medals in Class I and Class 2 at both the Early and Late National. In class one the winning Society will be awarded two silver medals to be awarded to contributing members. The winning Society will have the opportunity, if they wish, to purchase additional silver medals, at cost, so that all contributors to the winning exhibit may receive a medal. It will be a similar situation for class 2, where the winning Society will receive one silver medal, with the option of purchasing additional medals.

Grower of the year.
There is to be an alteration to the award of Grower of the year at the National shows. There is some unbalance at present at the possible points that can be won in different sections. Points will be awarded to exhibits as at present, and the top five points winners will be considered for grower of the year. A small panel of growers will select the Grower of the year from the five candidates presented to them. This will allow all factors relative to the award to be considered.

Some cultivars that can also be shown, even though odd vases may have been shown in past five years. Cricket, Tracy Waller and sports, Keystone, Sam Oldham, Gladys Sharp, Martina. A similar class is being considered for inclusion in the 2006 Late National.

Judges Exam 2005
It is proposed to hold a judging exam at the 2005 Late National. Any candidates wishing to take the exam should contact Terry Porter. The exam will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday 5th November. There will be an opportunity at 3.p.m. on the Friday of the show, for candidates to get some practical experience, and they can also if they wish join a judging team at the Early or Late Nationals to help gain judging experience. The judging rules for fantasies will be included in the next publication, together with new diagrams for singles.

Raffle Change
It is also proposed that the main raffle in 2005 will be drawn at the Late show, and not the Early one.
